Some Initial Introductions As We Start Blogging In These Interesting Times

So, the Vadon Foundation has been focusing on Native issues for a bit over two years and this is our first foray into the world of blogging as we begin building out our website. It’s honestly hard to know where to start, so perhaps it is best to start with an introduction. My name is David LaSarte-Meeks and I am an enrolled citizen of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe (Schitsu’umsh). I earned a degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering from Brown University and JD/MBS degrees from Stanford University. I’ve worked on Indian Country issues for over 25 years in a wide range of capacities in Arizona, California, Idaho, and Washington. I met the founder of the Vadon Foundation, Mark Vadon, at Stanford Graduate School of Business in the late 1990’s and we’ve been friends ever since. I have nothing but respect and appreciation for Mark and his family for choosing to focus on Native communities and issues for no reason other than their strong sense of historical and moral justice and a desire to make a positive difference in this world.
